LS Speakers’ Bureau
About Speakers’ Bureau Members
- They are individuals informed and passionate about Literacy Suffolk’s mission to advance adult literacy in Suffolk County, Long Island.
- They make presentations on behalf of LS at various events, meetings, and special gatherings, throughout the county
- They have taken LS’s tutor training workshop and have tutored adult learners for a minimum of one year.
- They’re willing to commit to one year as an LS speaker.
Examples of Groups Before Which Speakers Present
- Rotary Clubs
- Schools and colleges
- County government department heads and staff
- County legislative groups and committees
- Church groups
- Fellowship organizations
- Adult literacy conventions or conferences
Remember: You must be a trained LS tutor or be willing to take a training and tutor for a year before consideration for the LS Speakers’ Bureau.
